We all know that the world keeps changing and improving every day. From the way you buy groceries online, booking a taxi from an app on your phone, to the way you live in your house. Well, today we will talk more about the latter, and looking back, what are the things that have changed for the past few years on how we live in our home.

1.         Interior Designer for HDB

One of the trends that changing nowadays is hiring an interior designer. Maybe a few years back it sounds luxurious (and expensive) to hire an ID for your HDB unit, now not anymore as many homeowners will happily engage ID. As people want to get their desired design for their home, ID will be the best choices as they can recommend and help you build your dream home.

2.         Whole unit air-conditioned

Yes, there are still many HDB units that install air con only in their bedroom, but it has gradually changed. Nowadays, as Singapore getting “hotter” and the behaviour has changed from using a fan to air con. Even though the fan is much more efficient, some people still prefer air con for more ‘cooling’ sensation. You can check our full article of the pros and cons when choosing between air con and fan here.

3.         Coffee Maker Using Capsule

You know that this is coming. As it becoming trends lately, capsule coffee maker has created a lot of storms lately and people start using it. Well, it is very convenient, very easy to use and time efficient at the same time. But it also pretty costly as per capsule can double or triple the price of your usual instant or homemade coffee. It will be not as fresh as your beans which you grind on the spot. Every people has a different preference so choose which type is more suitable for you.

4.         Curtains & Blinds

Don’t you love that feeling when you open your curtains when you wake up in the morning? Now, most people have started installing curtains and blinds in their bedroom whereas once they only put it in their living room. Talking about curtain and blinds, if you stuck between these 2, you might want to compare each pros and cons. For example, a curtain is cheaper and easy to maintain, while blinds are much easier to control the light and more durable.

5.         Automated Clothes Hanging System

This is pretty new in Singapore, but some people have started to use it. If you want a more convenient way to hang your wet clothes, this might be the solution for you. It offers the easiness to raise and lower the hanging poles, and moreover, some of the models has an install LED light and heater fans which blow hot air so your clothes will dry faster. A convenient way to hang and dry your clothes for unpredicted weather Singapore.

6.         Massage Chair

I know that working in Singapore can be very tiring and it will be great if you can enjoy a short massage to relax the body. But we all know that massage can be very expensive. Well, to save your cost and time you probably can try a massage chair! Definitely the best option to get the best massage without leaving your home. Speaking about massage try Osim just launched their new Osim uLove 2 massage chair, which features the world’s first 4 hand massage technology. Check out the details here!

7.         Marble Quartz Tops

This is one of the most important elements of a “Crazy Rich Asians” home. Countertops, and what I mean by countertop is not wooden, but stone type material like quartz, granite, and marble. You know that it’s very gorgeous and definitely will elevate the luxuriousness of your home. On top of that, it’s very durable, easy to maintain, and some of the materials are heat/scratch resistant. It’s a nice investment for your home that you will not regret.

Well, those are some of the things that have changed in our home. Share us your thoughts in the comments section below!
