APSDA award is here again. Organize by APSDA, the award was introduced in 2021 as a biennial design award. It aimed at recognizing outstanding individuals and their exceptional inteior design projects in Asia and the Pacific regions. Winning an APSDA Award is a significant accomplishment for Interior Architects/Designers, as it provides international recognition and a platform to showcase their work.
What is APSDA?
APSDA, short form for Asia-Pacific Space Designers Association is a gathering of national level design associatiosn from the Asia and Oceania Region.
Established in 1987, they aim to promote a better understanding of diverse regional cultures and encourage the exhange of Interior Design knowledge among its members. APSDA has been at the forefront of enhancing the Interior Design profession and elevating design standards across the region.
About APSDA Awards
This awards is held to recognise and honour the most distinguished interior architects/designers in Asia Pacific on a biennial basis, showcase the best of Asia Pacific’s Designed Spaces and promotes professional standards among the interior design practices.

Personality Of The Year
This award will be reward to the person within industry who has been the most prominent and done the most to elevate work and professionals within the industry and to a wider audience. To recognise one or more, for their outstanding contribution to the industry, above and beyond their own personal, business or industry gain.

Student Project Of The Year
The Theme will be “Better Tomorrow”. Entrants must be currently enrolled in interior design, architectural and/or other relevant courses at an educational institution upon the time of submission. Winners will be notified to attend a ceremony and their entries may be featured in marketing and promotional materials as deemed appropriate by the organizer and sponsor.
Winners will have bear all costs relating to their appearance at the award ceremony and need to have a valid passport at the time of application.
Those who wants to participate the Project of the year will have to pay USD250. There won’t be any entry fee for Personality Of The Year and Student Project Of The Year.

What Are The Submission Requirements For APSDA Awards?
Project Of The Year
1. At least 5 project photos but not exceeding 8 project photos and 1 layout plan to be submitted.
2. No 3D renders are allowed, only photos of completed works will be accepted.
3. Total file size for each file upload should NOT exceed 5 MB.
4. A project write-up must be submitted in English.
Student Project Of The Year
1. All presentation boards must be designed in portrait orientation ONLY.
2. At least two (2) boards in A2 size must be submitted, but not exceeding four (4) boards.
a. To be included: Existing Site Photos (if applicable), Project Plan & Furniture Layout Plan,
Project Elevation & Perspectives of the project in 3D
3. Total file size for each submission should NOT exceed 5 MB.
4. A design concept statement must be submitted in English
The final results of the winners will only be annouced at the APSDA Award Ceremony and Dinner held on 28 October 2023 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Exact location and time will be confirmed at a later time.
