They say you reap what you sow, and homeowners Chris and Willy are definitely reaping the rewards of their hard work in the form of a beautifully done up abode. After several months of in-depth planning and renovation with The Wooden Platform, their industrial-themed apartment turned out looking super splendid.
Superbly Systematic
The married couple worked in an absolutely systematic manner. Being the more creative individual between the two, Chris was the one sourcing for ideas while Willy was in charge of searching for the items they needed. Louis, their interior designer from The Wooden Platform, took up the responsibility of providing technical and professional input so he could bring their ideas to new heights.
Both Chris and Willy are perfectionists. They have extremely high expectations, but were willing to take a big risk with the industrial cabinets in their living room. Since the placement of these cabinets had to be completely randomised, Louis wasn’t able to provide 3D drawings beforehand. Regardless, the couple had absolute faith in Louis. When it was time for the grand reveal, they were pleasantly surprised with how everything turned out.
Baking Queen
An avid baker, Chris purchased a baking table so she could make sweets in her spare time. It’s been placed right in front of the kitchen’s semi glass wall — which was designed specifically to allow more sunlight into the area. Instead of installing typical cupboards, Louis added mesh to a couple of cupboard doors in order to mix things up.
A Collector’s Paradise
Chris, an animator, is fond of collecting figurines. For the past six years her hobby has led to a massive expansion in her collection, and it’s now proudly on display in the couple’s entertainment room.
Necessary Separation
The orientation of Chris and Willy’s master suite is pretty special. Their closet sits right smack in the middle of the room, creating a walkway on one side while leaving just enough space for their bed on the other.
“Placing our wardrobe right in the centre of our room leaves just a tiny area for our bed. No other piece of furniture can be added to the space the room will be free from unnecessary distractions.”
